I found the Diploma in Clinical Research to be an engaging and application-oriented course, which gave us as learners, a firm grasp of the clinical trials industry, from the concept of a scientific approach, to practical applications using relevant case studies. We explored regulatory frameworks such as Good Clinical Practice, which covers the international standard for ethical and scientific quality of clinical trials, to understanding the significance of managing documentation to confirm the validity of a clinical trial as well the integrity of its data. We also learnt the importance of monitoring progress through site visits, ensuring patient safety, and how a CRA would collaborate with other key personnel within the team to facilitate a successful clinical trial through all of its phases.

It was very interesting to learn how the product life cycle of a drug can influence the clinical trial industry. All in all, the course content was comprehensive and gave us realistic insight into the interesting and critical role of a Clinical Research Associate (CRA).

Beyond the theoretical content, this course will be beneficial to those who are looking to work in the clinical trials industry. Prior to this course, I was unsure of how to go about professionally positioning myself for job prospects, and didn’t know where to start despite my interest in working in this field. This course has since equipped me with the knowledge and confidence that I have what it takes to excel in this industry.

Dr Dhamo is a highly experienced and knowledgeable lecturer. His up to date insights into the clinical research sector alone are worth attending the class for, in my opinion. Not only does he present material in a way that keeps us as students engaged, he also gives constructive input and guidance in addressing our questions over academic content as well any that we might have regarding what the day to day work of a CRA would entail. I have genuinely enjoyed my time undertaking the Diploma in Clinical Research as I found the learning environment to be positive, collaborative and enriching, alongside Dr Dhamo and likeminded learners.
