Course Modules & Synopsis

1. Banquet Management Prepares students to cope with challenges in day-to-day operations of the banquet department in full-service hotels, managing food and beverage events.

2. Developing Managers Focuses on personal development and career in management. Explores management behavior principles, self-appraisal, and leadership roles, using simulations or work placements.

3. Tourism Destination Management Skills to source and provide destination information (local culture, geography, cuisine) and sell tourism products. Relevant for domestic and international contexts.

4. Bar Management Reviews cellar and bar management techniques, including operations, staffing, quality, hygiene, and technology. Addresses ethical issues in business operations.

5. Accounting and Finance in Tourism and Hospitality Industry Equips students with basic accounting concepts, budgeting, and interpreting financial information. Covers key financial accounting areas for budget management responsibility.

6. Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions (MICE) Management Fundamental knowledge of meetings, conventions, and event management principles. Teaches planning, organizing, and conducting meetings.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality awarded by a local Polytechnic, CSM Academy International, or other relevant Diploma holders.

English Language Requirement

  • IELTS with a minimum overall band of 5.5; OR
  • GCE ‘A’ Level pass in English or equivalent.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, a student must:

  • Pass all module examinations.
  • Complete the 6-month industrial attachment.
  • Local Students: Achieve an attendance of 75%.
  • International Students: Achieve an attendance of 90% in any month.

Upon successful completion, the Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management will be conferred by CSM Academy International.
