Level 2 Diploma For Beauty Specialists (Up to 90% funding by SDF)

This Diploma aims to equip the student with the necessary skills in communicating with customer, performing treatments within industry time limit, planning and marketing strategies.

It also aims to provide basic knowledge in structures and functions of a human body, diseases and disorders and develop his/her personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance as a beauty therapist.

  • ITEC is a leading international specialist examination board, providing quality qualifications in Beauty & Spa Therapy, Hairdressing, Complementary Therapies, Sports & Fitness Training and Customer Service.
  • ITEC is approved as an Awarding Organisation (AO) in the UK. As such all QCF qualifications are approved on the Qualifications Credit Framework.

Course Duration

Full time: 3 months (6-hour lessons/day, 5 days/week)
Part time: 6 months (6-hour lessons/day, 3 days/week)

This module is to understand, explain and demonstrate:

  • The importance of consulting and communicating with client tactfully and accurately, check for skin diseases, recognise those contraindications to make-up
  • Contraindications to eye make-up with reasons
  • Select make-up according to the occasion, client colouring, age and preferences

  • How lighting may affect the application and finished result for make-up

  • Face shapes, eye shapes, nose shapes, lip shapes
  • Show use of colour corrective creams
  • How to conceal any flaws on the skin

Manicure and Pedicure
This module is to understand, explain and demonstrate:

  • How to check for contraindications and recognise any nail disease
  • General contraindications to manicure and pedicure
  • Importance of consultation and communicating with the client tactfully and accurately
  • How to sanitise client’s hands
  • Use of the products and tools
  • Use of specialised nail treatments
  • How to file the nails correctly
  • How to decide upon the correct nail shape
  • Apply cuticle cream or oil
  • Apply cuticle remover and demonstrate use of the hoof stick, tipped orange wood stick, cuticle knife and nippers
  • How to massage the hand and lower arm/foot and lower leg demonstrating the classical massage movements where appropriate
  • Remove any excess product
  • Buffing
  • How to buff the nails
  • Apply base coat, two coats of enamel, smoothly, evenly and ensuring a hairline gap around the nail wall
  • Application of the topcoat
  • Use of minimal correction to ensure a good finished result

Waxing
This module is to understand, explain and demonstrate:

  • How to sanitise the area to be treated

This module is to understand and explain:

Graduation Requirements and Awards

To graduate, you need to successfully complete three case studies and pass the examinations marked by ITEC. Upon meeting all graduation requirements, you will be awarded with a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialists by ITEC International.

Local students must achieve an attendance of 75% and international students must achieve an attendance of 90% in any month of the course.

‘Obtained at least a C6 at GCE N Levels in any three subjects or equivalent

***The Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) serves to protect students’ paid fees.
****It is compulsory for all local and international students to purchase medical insurance which is valid throughout their course of studies with the CSM Academy International. Local students (Singaporeans, PRs & Non-student’s Pass holders) may opt-out for this scheme if they can provide the proof of adequate medical insurance coverage in Singapore.

International Students

Step 6: Payment of Programme Fees
Once your Student Pass application is approved-in-principle by ICA, you will be required to bring the original certificates for verification and to sign the student contract and follow by course fee payment.
