Member, Examination Board

Dr Lina Ma obtained her Registered Nursing Certificate and District Nursing Certificate in London, England. She has experienced working in various hospitals as well as in the community as a District Nurse and Health Advisor for the Elderly. This accumulated knowledge has put her in tune with the needs of the age care industry. She later obtained her Bachelor degree in Nursing and a Master degree in Health Science Education. Since then, Lina has implemented her academic learning to work by using conceptual models and system change management in most of her projects and programmes.

Since arriving in Singapore in 1995, she has worked in various organisations and institutions as infection control nurse, community nurse coordinator and health educator. In 2000, she took on the challenge as Nursing Administrator at the Lions Home for the Elders and later promoted to Manager (Clinical Administration). Presently, Lina is working as Deputy Executive Director for both Lions Home in Toa Payoh and Bedok, and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in June 2013. Lina strives to build up the capabilities and capacity of her aged care facilities by constantly scanning, monitoring, forecasting and assessing trends and the government healthcare policies. This has helped her organization to respond to the government policy and planning effort, as well as to a variety of other external forces. She has served as a member of the National Dementia Care Network and the Expert Panel on Nursing Homes convened by the Ministry of Health.

Currently, Lina serves as a member of the:
