Dr. Emma Burnett, currently serving as the President of both the Academic Board
and the Examination Board for CSM Academy International in Singapore, brings a
wealth of experience and expertise to her roles. With a distinguished career in
academia and healthcare spanning over two decades, Dr. Burnett has held
significant leadership positions, including her current role as Head of Campus at
Ajman and Al Ain for Fatima College of Health Sciences in the UAE. She holds a
PhD from the University of Dundee, where she also earned her MSc in Infection
Prevention and Control, a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, and a
Bachelor of Nursing. Dr. Burnett’s extensive career includes tenures as Senior
Executive and Associate Dean at the University of Dundee, and various specialist
roles in infection control and tissue viability within the NHS Tayside in the UK.
Her leadership is marked by a commitment to excellence in teaching, research,
and policy development, demonstrated by her chairing multiple senior
committees and leading international research projects. Dr. Burnett’s
contributions to infection prevention and control are recognized globally, with
numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at
international conferences. Her dedication to fostering a culture of quality and
improvement in healthcare education is further evidenced by her involvement in
developing competency frameworks and strategic plans that have significantly
impacted infection control practices worldwide.
